About the Business
Hatfield College Boat Club (HCBC) was founded in 1846 and has been progressing and expanding ever since. The club has enjoyed many successes over the years. Recently the Women's Squad has achieved considerable success under the coaching of Jamie Watson, qualifying for the Academic IVs at Women's Henley in 2013 and 2014. At Women's Eights Head of the River (WEHoRR), HCBC's Women have finished 82nd (2013), and 52nd (2014), which placed the team as the fastest University College crew outside of London. In 2015, the Women's Squad entered a Composite VIII at WEHoRR with St. John's College where the crew placed 158th, making the girls Durham's second fastest college crew. The Mens Squad have enjoyed a very successful season under the captaincy of Alex Dent. The squad recently competed at HoRR and placed 173rd, making them Durham's 4th fastest college crew. The men's squad has expanded considerably over the past year and has 2 strong VIIIs and a IV training on a regular basis.
