About the Business
Since 2001 the College, whose origins date back to 1859, has undergone a total transformation, culminating in earning Ofsted's top rating. This tremendous achievement places us among the five highest-performing colleges in the country. We're also the first general Further Education college in the West of England to receive a rating of outstanding in all four key areas, under the new Common Inspection Framework. In their report, Ofsted noted that: "Following their rigorous inspection, Ofsted commented that "the vast majority of learners successfully complete their courses, often achieving higher grades than expected when they started their courses".
Our academic results are consistently above national benchmarks. At university level, 99% of students passed their Degree, with 20% achieving First Class Honours - which is significantly above the national average.
